Introduction

Welcome to Llangatwg Community School's Sports & Leisure web site. The web site gives information about the sports and activities that Llangatwg offers it's pupils. Llangatwg school is situated at the bottom of both Neath & Dulais Valleys and just on the outskirts of the market town of Neath.

The school caters for children between the ages of 11-16 years of age, and has approx 760 pupils. Every child is encouraged to do sport at the school and with so many activities on offer there is something for everyone.

Both valleys along with Neath have strong rugby ties, with numerous clubs throughout. Many of the schools pupil's represent clubs throughout the area, some even represent their regional rugby team the Osprey's. The school has also had previous international players pass through the school with the latest being Martin Robert's who earned his first senior cap for Wales in the autumn internationals in november 2008 against Cananda. Although rugby is a strong sport in Llangatwg, the school also encourages pupils to try new and different sports to give them the opportunity to broaden and improve skill levels at as many sports as possible.

Llangatwg is happy to boast many pupils who have achieved both County and International honors while at the school in many different sports which include the likes of boxing, football, badminton & many more.
