Introduction to Llangatwg Athletics

Athletics has developed into an integral part of the Summer term. It is covered in the P.E curriculum where the pupils participate in a 6 week block of athletics. Within this the pupils are taught the skills & techniques required to perform in a number of events covering the main aspects of athletics, jumps, throwing & running.

Athletics practice is an extra curriculum activity taking place after school on a wednesday. It is intended this summer to host inter-school competitions between Neath schools.

The two main athletic competitions over the course of the term take place in May & June.

Also the school has an inter-house sports day where all year groups compete against each other in various events for the prize of the house trophy.
