Introduction

Llangatwg Community School is the secondary school that serves the communities of the Neath and Dulais Valleys, together with the villages of Cilffriw and Cadoxton. There are currently 760 pupils, 48 teachers and 15 support staff.

Llangatwg is a forward looking school anxious to blend traditional and established values with the most up to date teaching / learning methods and equipment.

It is a successful school. Academic standards have shown year on year improvement and now considerably exceed national averages. In addition we provide a wide range of sporting, musical and cultural activities that are designed to prepare our learners to take a full part in society.

The philosophy of the school is based upon the importance of the individual. As a school we try to develop each of our learners to the greatest extent possible.

We pride ourselves on the warm friendly atmosphere that exists throughout the school. Pupils are expected to behave well and to fulfil their potential.
