Welsh is taught as a second
language to all pupils at KS3 and offered as a Full Course or
Short Course at KS4, GCSE level.
The department aims to offer pupils the opportunity to develop
their bilingual skills to the highest level and ultimately have
the ability to communicate confidently through the medium of
Welsh. This is apparent from the excellent success rate at the
end of KS4.

The department actively promotes bilingualism with pupils given
opportunities to develop their language skills and talents outside
of the classroom through activities such as the annual Eisteddfod,
attendance at Welsh language and activity courses at the Urdd
Gobaith Cymru centres in Llangrannog and
Glan Llyn.

Euro Disney, The Rugby World Cup in Nantes, France, are organised
throughout the year to reinforce classroom learning as well as
nurture pupils' positive attitudes towards their Welshness.
